Obituary of Joseph C. Quenneville

South Hadley -Joseph "Jerry" C. Quenneville, 99,  passed away February 21, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born on August 3, 1921 in Holyoke, MA to Hermas and Emelia (Chamberland) Quenneville.  He was raised in Holyoke and graduated in 1939 from Holyoke High School.  

     Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII.  He retired as a letter carrier for the U.S Postal Service after working there for 21 years.  He was a communicant of St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish and for many years served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.   For many years he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1721 in South Hadley where he rose to the position of Grand Knight.   

     He will be deeply missed by his wife of  74 years  Juliette (Parent) Quenneville.   He is also survived by his four children, Charles (Kathy) Quenneville of Chicopee, Donald (Maggie) Quenneville of E. Falmouth, Denise (Jim) Carithers of Springfield and Gerard (Margie) Quenneville of AZ. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The Quenneville family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Robert Byrne for taking such wonderful care of Joseph.  

     All services are private and Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
