Obituary of Richard E. Wilson

Chicopee- Richard E. Wilson, passed away July 6, 2021 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on July 9, 1960 in Springfield to Robert and Eleanor (Follansbee) Wilson, Rich grew up in East Longmeadow and graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1979. He formerly worked in Springfield with Mass Mutual, Tom James Company as a clothier, TD Bank, and Sten-Tel Transcription. Rich then left to become a business owner of 4 yogurt shops, WOW Yogurt of South Hadley, and Berkshire Yogurt of Northampton, Greenfield and Brattleboro. Rich was an avid golfer and spent many days at the Orchards Golf Course in South Hadley with his friends. He loved to travel and loved his dog, Brixie. He leaves behind his wife, Kimberlee Wilson of Chicopee; his son, Ben Wilson and bride-to-be, Kelsey Davey of Chicopee; His daughter, Emily Wilson of Hawaii; and their mother, Sue Wilson of South Hadley. He also leaves his stepmom, Margaret of Florida; his sisters, Carol Lyman of Springfield and Nancy Lum of Colorado; as well as his nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Billings Hill Cemetery in East Longmeadow. Rich's family will hold a post funeral gathering at the Knights of Columbus, 26 Baldwin St. East Longmeadow, immediately following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the A.L.S Association.
