Obituary of Eugene Mason Conley

Salem, NY- Eugene Mason Conley, 91, passed away October 6, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital in New York. He was born on October 12, 1929 in Springfield to the late Raymond K. and Edna Margaret Pearl (Sharp) Conley and was a resident of Wilbraham for almost 60 years. Eugene previously worked as a union carpenter for over 40 years before retiring. Following his retirement, he began a career as a wood carver. Many of his carvings were displayed in galleries in both Woodstock, VT and Madison Ave., NYC. Eugene loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and trapping. He also enjoyed reading and shopping for antiques at the local flea markets and antique shops. Following the passing of his beloved wife, Barbara (Lavalle) Conley, in 2012, Eugene moved out to Hebron, NY to reside closer to their son. He was also predeceased by his brother, Raymond K. Conley, Jr. He will be greatly missed by his son, Mark Conley, of Granville, NY; daughter, Frances Ann Pollack, of Ithica, NY; and grandchildren, Courtney, David, Emily and Rory. A graveside service will be held on October 20th at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Palmer.
