Obituary of June M. Korzec

June Korzec, 98, died peacefully at home on January 1, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Born August 2, 1923 in Palmer, she was a life-long resident of her beloved town Thorndike, June always saw the world through rose-colored glasses. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and cherished family above all. An avid reader, June could discuss and had a respectful opinion about everything. She loved bird watching, walking at the ocean, especially in Maine, and sitting on her porch.

Whether she was telling fortunes by reading tea leaves and cards, or singing along to her favorite songs, her love of life was always evident.

June was predeceased by Frank, her husband of 69 years, and sons-in-law Craig Webster and Everett Walker, as well as Michael Korzec's partner Susan Taylor. She leaves 6 children; Shannon Webster of Ocean Park Maine, Michael of Palmer, Terrence and his partner Marilynn Cole of Thorndike, Mary Picco and her husband Gary of Brimfield, Maureen Walker and her partner Ryan Morgan of Monson, and Kathleen Battige and her husband Keith of Monson.

She was the adored Grammie of 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. June was excitedly anticipating the arrival of 3 additional great-grandchildren in early 2022.

The family offers special thanks to her Baystate Hospice Team and to her niece and caretaker Beverly Rooney.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church with burial to follow at the parish cemetery.
