Obituary of Therese Rose Marie Couture

     Our beloved Therese ‘Terry’ Couture of Belchertown, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4 at the age of 91. Born on October 24, 1930 in Springfield, MA to Estelle (Fournier) and Jean-Marie LeBlanc she attended Cathedral high school. Her much loved husband of 69 years, Raymond, predeceased her.

     Terry’s deep spirituality sustained her always. She was a devout communicant of St. Francis of Assisi church, serving as the first lay eucharistic minister. She was also involved with church fundraisers such as the annual tag sale and the Christmas Bazaar. Once her children were grown she took a job at the State D.E.P. for several years. She enjoyed reading, traveling, golf, and bridge, ice cream and sunshine.To her many friends she was known for her pure heart, grace, and joie de vivre.

     Above all Terry adored her family and they absolutely adored her. She leaves her children Christin (William A. Hosie Jr.) Shelburne Falls, MA; Michael (Cathy), Belmont, MA; James, Port Angeles, WA; William (Joanne) Malden, MA. Her son Richard and daughter Diane predeceased her. Her grandchildren Caitlin (Jameson Wood); Michelle (Cristian Jimenez); Jennifer (Saco Asadoorian); and Jeffrey, and her great grandchildren Penelope, Mae, Cameron, Toby, and another due in July. 
She is survived by her sister Janie Brochu of South Hadley, MA, and was predeceased by her sister Madeleine Lenz of Amherst, MA. 
 

Terry was a gracious lady till the end. Thank you to Baystate Wing hospital for the tender care that she received. She will be greatly missed by us all. 

     A Walk-Through Visitation will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St, from 4pm-7pm.
Friends and Family are invited to meet directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belchertown the following morning, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 for Terry’s Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10am.
