Obituary of Linda E. Boisselle

Linda E. (Thurston) Boisselle, 66, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2022 at home. She was born March 6, 1955 in Greenfield, attended primary schools in Turners Falls, MA, then attended and graduated from Stoneleigh Burnham School. She graduated from UMASS Amherst in 1977 with a Bachelors degree in bilingual social work. After moving to South Hadley and prior to starting her family, Linda worked for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. She then worked in the South Hadley School System for over 25 years, retiring from Mosier Elementary School in 2020. She was the owner and president of Architectural Roof Management Inc. for 13 of years, working alongside her husband, Ed.
Linda’s family was her greatest joy. Her heart filled with happiness raising her two children and bringing everyone who walked through her front door into her family. She loved to spend time with her family skiing, on the boat, gardening, as well as supporting them in each and every one of their endeavors. Linda loved cooking dinner for her loved ones, ensuring everyone around her was always fed, happy and healthy. Her favorite pastimes included swimming, listening to Journey, Tom Petty, and The Beatles, and reading ANY book recommended to her (though she needed no coaxing to read every Stephen King book available!)
Everyone who knew Linda was touched by her unconditional kindness, patience, love, and support. For every person that knew her, there is a story about how she helped them with something in their life.
She is survived by her husband Edward J. with whom she spent 13 adventure filled years prior to 37 years of marriage together; her Mother, Elizabeth (Mayers) Thurston; her children Melissa Grace and Amanda Lynn; her brother Gary Thurston (Diana); and countless friends and family that crossed the threshold of her home over the past 35+ years. She is predeceased by her father, James Thurston Jr.
