Obituary of Ernest William Demers

Chicopee- Ernest William Demers, 87, of Chicopee, MA peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by the love of his family on February 22, 2022. He was born on February 28, 1934 in Westfield, MA to William and Doris (Hall) Demers. At the age of 20, he married the love of his life, Dixie (White) Demers. Together, they lived in Chicopee and raised their three sons. Ernest worked as a plant superintendent at Texon Inc for 33 years, where he was a role model of hard work. Even though he excelled in his professional life, his true passion was being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ernest was always excited to share his interests with his family, such as tinkering, fishing, camping, hiking or just simply enjoying an ice cream cone on any day. Ernest even helped his son's build their homes in his spare time.

In addition to his loving wife of 67 years, Ernest will be deeply missed by his three sons; Glen of Chicopee, Gary of Belchertown, and Keith and wife Cindra of Chicopee. He will also be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Ernest is predeceased by his daughter in law, wife of Gary, Carol Demers.  All services are private and visitation have been omitted.
