I remember when I was in like third grade Joan was my brownie leader and she took us camping in the woods behind her house and then the next week we went camping on the other side of Allen Road in the woods across from the Robinsons house. We were getting bit alive by mosquitoes and she had her Girl Scout leader uniform on and was telling us to suck it up. over the years I’ve known her in many different capacities for a long time she sold Avon and I didn’t even really like Avon but I go and buy it from her and she always gave me like 10 books and little samples . She took such joy from doing that you could see that she just loved it! I stop in and see her now and then and her and Jack be sitting in their kitchen just watching TV chitchatting away always so happy to see me she was just a nice kind good woman that loved her family very much. Kind of a weird coincidence that Stephanie years later got together with her beloved grandson. But I always felt so welcome and her home and she will be deeply missed! Nancy Long

Nana replied NO THATS FOR SHANIA !! Those that don’t know shania was my husky lol and nana was serious haha she loved that crazy old dog

My nana was the glue that kept our family getting together year after year having all her loved ones around a dinner table brought her great joy and pride she def counted wealth by love and not money denominations that’s why holidays with lots of family made her feel like the richest woman around she def did everything to the max and loving family was top of the list hoping all the family will still get together not just to honor nana but because we can maybe feel some of the love and joy it brought to her ourselves if there’s 1 great lesson my nana tought me was always tell your close ones you love them and never go to bed angry at your spouse great wisdom from a great woman

Joan and I were shopping buddies for many years. She came to my house only once because of my stairs...Thanksgiving 2017 and the picture commemorates the occasion. We always had a ball. I miss her terribly and COVID didn't help any visits the last couple years! :(
