Obituary of Kathleen G Kopec

South Hadley - Kathleen G. (Vreeland) Kopec, 91, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on September 18, 2022. Born March 20, 1931 in Lee, she was the daughter of Wilmer and Charlotte (Emery) Vreeland. Kathleen grew up in Lee. After her children were grown, she worked as a secretary at Precision Camera Repair for many years. She has lived in South Hadley for over 60 years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching her beloved Red Sox, as well as crocheting; she shared her beautiful afghans with family, friends and "Warm Up America." Kathleen's love and memory will forever remain with her husband of 67 years, Edward Kopec, along with their children, Lawrence Kopec and his wife Beverley of South Hadley, Thomas Kopec and Leah Carneiro of Lake Worth, FL, Kathleen Guyott and her husband Marc of Reading, MA, David Kopec and his wife Cheryl of Ludlow, and Brian Kopec and his wife Tanya of South Hadley as well as seven grandchildren: Lauren, Kristina, Justin, William, Christopher, Marissa and Cindy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Doris Jean, Marion Forfa, Kenneth Vreeland, Charlotte Vreeland, Isabelle Vreeland, and Harold Vreeland. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 23rd from 4:00-6:30 p.m. with a service to conclude at 6:30 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
