Marcia Sloan

Obituary of Marcia Ann Sloan

Marcia (Koch) Sloan

Marcia has left us all way too soon on October 7th at the age of 67. She was the daughter of Albert and Henrietta Koch of Menominee, Michigan. A graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, she went on to study at Regis College and Framingham State College. She graduated with honors and a BS in biology and went on to work as a registered hematology technologist (MT (H), ASCP) in various Maine and western Massachusetts hospitals and medical practices. She earned her Masters in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

She married her best friend and the love of her life David in 1978 and they spent nearly 44 loving years together, living in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine, all the while raising their sons Christopher and Brian. She was always David’s angel and now becomes a real one for all of us. Her passion was her love for her family and her grandchildren. She was beautiful, kind, caring and sharing and loved the simple things like time spent with the kids and grandkids, quiet time alone with her husband, talking with family, and getting together with friends and (of course) spending time at her favorite beach.

She leaves behind David, son Brian and his wife Anne, son Chris and his wife Katie, grandchildren Moses, John Henry and Emory, brother Jim and family and sisters Carolyn and Julie and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Bill.

In lieu of flowers and contributions you’re just asked to remember that beautiful smile, her goodness, her infectious laugh and her love for every one of you, all of her family and friends.
