Obituary of Mary Jane Racine

Brimfield- Mary Jane (Frappier) Racine, lovingly known as Jane, 91, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, who kept watch over her day and night until her passing on November 15, 2022 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in West Brookfield. She was born on December 20, 1930 in Springfield to the late Mitchell and Florence (White) Frappier. Jane was a graduate of the High School of Commerce and was a resident of Springfield for 81 years. For many years prior to her retirement, she worked as a cafeteria cook for the city of Springfield. In her leisure, Jane enjoyed vacationing with her family to Maine and Cape Cod. She also enjoyed swimming, reading, crocheting, and her word search books. Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children, Susan White and husband Gerry, of Terryville, CT.; Sharon St. Pierre and husband Stephen, of Brimfield, MA, with whom she lived until 2020; Robert Racine of Springfield, MA; Norman Racine and wife Barbara, of Springfield, MA; Richard Racine of Vero Beach, FL; and Sandra Frodema and husband Russell, of Ludlow, MA. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 21 years, Paul J. Racine Sr.; her son, Paul J. Racine Jr.; brothers Gus, Art, and Joe Frappier; and her sister, Rose M. Grady. Jane's family would like to thank the staff of Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility, especially the staff on Unit 3B, for all of their kindness, care, and compassion for "MJ". You all will truly not be forgotten. Visitation will be held at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home on Monday, November 21st from 4:00-6:30pm with family reflections to be shared at 6:30pm. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22nd at 8:45am for a funeral procession to St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield for Jane's Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield. For those wishing, donations in Mary's memory can be made to St. Christopher's Church, 16 Sturbridge Rd.
