Obituary of Leonard A. Neumann

GRANBY: Leonard "Lennie" A. Neumann, Jr., 77, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 7, 2023. He is survived by his loving daughter, Katharina Neumann and her husband David Beiser of West Springfield; his 2 grandsons: Conor and Evan Neumann; his former wife, Nancy Neumann; his sister Carol Drosier and his dear friend Carol Ellstrom. His son Paul Randall predeceased him.

Lennie was born in Holyoke, MA and raised in South Hadley the son of the late Leonard A. and Clair (Charlboise) Neumann, Sr. He graduated South Hadley High School in 1963 before serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He earned his Master Electrician License and worked as an electrician for many years, owning Leonard A. Neuman Electrical Contracting for over 40 years, never quite retiring. He worked with many high school graduates teaching them how to become electricians and enter the trade. Leonard was a proud Mason and an active member for 52 years in South Hadley Falls and Mt. Holyoke Lodge A.F. & A.M he served as past Grand Master and is a Shriner. He bought farmland in Granby where he would spend all of his time farming, gardening and planting too many crops! Lenny loved riding his John Deere tractor, watching the sunsets, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Calling hours are Monday, February 13, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 followed by a service at 10:30 at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial to follow at West Cemetery. For more information visit: www.beersandstory.com
