Obituary of Marcelina Medina

Marcelina Medina, 88, passed away February 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 6, 1934 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Marcelina (Rodriguez) Serrano. Marcelina was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her time to taking care of her family that she loved dearly. As a devout Catholic and member of St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley, Marcelina was guided by her faith.
Besides her parents, Marcelina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ismael Medina; their son, Ismael Medina, Jr.; and siblings, Augustina, Petra, Maria, and Francisco. She is survived by her children, Magali Medina and her husband Daniel Goodman and their children Katrina, Jackson and Julia, Samuel Medina and Sylvia Torres and their child Samuel Andres,  and Jose Medina and his wife Jennifer and their children Liam and Marley and husband Trent. She also leaves behind her living siblings and their families Elena, Jose, Juanita, Carmen, and Gladys; as well as many extended family members.
Visitation will be held on March 1, 2023 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on March 2, 2023 at 10:00am for a funeral procession to St. Patrick's Church at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcelina's memory can be made to St. Patrick's Church, 30 Main St. South Hadley MA 01075, or to Baystate Hospice.
