Lynne McMillan

Obituary of Lynne McMillan

Lynne (Boilard) McMillan, 66, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on April 9, 2023 after a two year battle with cancer.

Born in Springfield, Mass on April 8, 1957, she was the youngest child of the late Conrad J. Boilard and Marie (Ladue) Boilard. Lynne grew up in Indian Orchard encircled by her family and the French Canadian community of St. Aloysuis Church and school. She went on to graduate from Cathedral High School in 1975. Lynne and Jack started their married life in 1979 in Springfield and moved in 1988 to Belchertown where continued to live.

She is survived by her childhood sweetheart, the love of her life, her husband of 44 years, John McMillan, as well as her children, Nicolas McMillan of South Carolina and Katelyne Tiffany and husband Mark of Belchertown. Lynne’s legacy is with her beloved grandson, Jackson Wyatt Tiffany. Jackson completely captured Lynne’s heart and she will be with him forever. She also leaves her brother, Christopher J. Boilard and his wife Joanne of Andover, MA and her devoted sister, Michelle Currie of Holden, MA. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Yes, Jessica Hicks Burns of Nantucket you were her favorite but don’t tell the others.

She was predeceased by her parents, Conrad and Marie Boilard and her brother Mark Boilard who passed on April 9, 1977. Lynne was admired and loved by so many wonderful and caring friends it is hard to list them all yet we would fail her if we did not mention a few, such as her friend from childhood Lyne Grenier Wenners of Springfield, MA, her longtime friend, Caroline Bessette of Belchertown, MA, and Dar Fekeris of Springfield, MA as well as her new Summerhill family. Lynne loved everyone and everyone felt it.

Lynne was a talented baker, seamstress, home decorator, chef, a master of all crafts and a bargain shopper extraordinaire. Ask for her help and she was there whether it was for a desert table or a wedding dress she got it done. She loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to Paris, Alaska, Bahamas, San Francisco, Belgium, Netherlands, Nantucket, Maine, Myrtle Beach and more. Our hearts are broken she didn’t get to take the trip of a lifetime which was set for May 2023.

Besides devoting herself to her husband and children, Lynne worked throughout her adulthood spending time at Mass Mutual and moving on to legal assistant at Bohnet, Romani & Farrington, P.A. in Palmer, to the Bar Association in Springfield and finally at the WestMass Eldercare in Holyoke. She also loved her part-time work in the hospitality industry at Adelfia’s restaurant in South Hadley. She retired last year on her 65th birthday.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Beers & Story, 10 Maple St., Belchertown, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on April 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 24 Jabish St., Belchertown, MA. Burial will be private.
