Obituary of Elizabeth D. Ogden

Palmer-Elizabeth D. (Quinn) Ogden, 85, passed away at home on April 13, 2023. Born November 19, 1937 in Elmira, New York, she was the daughter of John and Francesca (Moore) Quinn. Betty grew up in New York and lived all over the country before settling with her family in Palmer in 1972. She worked for Sanderson MacLeod for a number of years as a brush assembler. She also worked for Palmer Food Service for 5 years. In her leisure, Betty enjoyed playing cards and loved her pitch leagues. In her younger years, she was a 4H leader and also enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Arthur Ogden in 2011. She will be missed by her children, Maryellyn Roche and her husband, William of Palmer and Timothy Ogden of Palmer. She leaves five grandchildren, Jason, Jacqueline, Owen, Damien, Susan, and one great grandchild, Otto Jay. She will be greatly missed by her partner Richard Howlett and her sister, Jean Merritt of Colorado Springs, CO. She was predeceased by her sister Ann Miller, and 5 brothers James , Francis, Richard, Robert and her twin William. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 23 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband Clarence at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at a later date. Please consider donations in her memory to the Palmer Senior Center.
