Obituary of Kenneth Philip Gallagher

South Hadley, MA – Kenneth Philip Gallagher, 61 passed away on October 3rd, 2023, at Care One at Redstone. Kenneth was born March 13th, 1962, in Ware, MA, son of William Gallagher and Jean (Primavera). Ken was raised in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School. During his high school years, he was a star athlete playing football, basketball, and track. Later in life, Kenneth was an assistant coach for the Palmer High School football team. Ken has lived in South Hadley for 31 years and was employed for 26 years with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed listening to classic rock and playing video games. Kenny was a simple man who above anything else loved his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 33 years Deborah (Duda) Gallagher of South Hadley, their four children Kevin Gallagher, Kelley Gallagher, and Shawn Gallagher all of South Hadley and youngest son Ryan Gallagher of Chicopee, his two grandchildren Ava and Noah Gallagher, his mother Jean (Primavera) Andresen and her husband Bill of Thorndike, his father William Gallagher and his wife Maureen of Palmer. Kenneth also leaves behind three siblings, Sharon Blazejowski, Kathleen Gallagher and Mark Gallagher, all of Palmer. Calling hours for Kenneth will be held on Saturday October 14th from 9:00-11:00 am, followed by an 11:00am Funeral Mass both will be held at St. Thomas Parish in Palmer, MA.
