Obituary of Norman J. Moreau
South Hadley- Norman J. Moreau, 91, passed away peacefully October 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 2, 1932 in Chicopee, to the late Philip Moreau and Mary Beatrice (Jarvis) Godin. Norman proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean war. After earning his Master's in Accounting from A.I.C., he went on to work as the V.P. of Finance at Holyoke Hospital for many years before retiring and was a member of the National Association of Accountants.
Norman's life was guided by his faith. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley, and the Confraternity of the Passion of Passionist Fathers and Nocturnal Adoration Society, both in W. Springfield. Through St. Theresa's Parish, Norman was a parish council member, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister. Though he was devoted to his work, his true devotion was always to his family. He enjoyed gardening, planting an array of vegetables and flowers. He also enjoyed the many trips to Cape Cod with his family and clamming with his loving wife, Norma.
Besides his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucille Mroczek, Rev. Ernest P. Moreau, and Shiela Marie Clark. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 beautiful years, Norma (Falcetti) Moreau; children, Thomas Moreau (Ricia Velasco) of NH, Tina Moreau-Jones (Daniel Jones) of NY, Theresa Moreau of RI, Donna Flinn (Darwin) of SC, and Deborah Moreau of MA; and his grandchildren, Catherine and Mary Moreau of NH. Norman's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Baystate Hospice team for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Sunday October 29th from 2-4pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Monday October 30th at 9am for a procession to St. Patrick's Church. Mass will begin at 10am. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman's memory can be made to the Dominican Nuns of West Springfield, 1430 Riverdale St. West Springfield, MA 01089.
