Obituary of Margaret M Massimilla

Granby -Margaret M. Massimilla, 86, passed away December 17, 2023, at Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her daughter by her side. She was born on September 1, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to John and Anna (Potyczka) Wasilewski. Margaret was raised in Detroit, MI and lived in Taylor, MI, and Livonia, MI until she moved in 2017 to Granby, MA to be with her daughter.

She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and a beloved member of the choir. She was predeceased in death by her first husband, Thomas J. Carey, Jr and 2nd husband, Antonio Massimilla. She is survived by her two children, Timothy J. Carey (Pam) of Johnsonville, NY and Elizabeth Ginepro of Granby, MA. She also leaves her stepchildren, Paul Massimilla (Dolores a.k.a.DeeDee) and Phil Massimilla (Linda) of MI, as well as 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church from 10:30-11:00 am on Friday, December 22, 2023. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church or to a local animal shelter for her love of dogs.
