Cynthia Kane

Obituary of Cynthia Kane

Cynthia Ann Kane, 65, of Belchertown died Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Marlborough.

She was the daughter of George and Nancy (Brown) Borrell and the wife of Jeffrey J. Kane, to whom she was married for almost 43 years.

Besides her husband, Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Jessica Varney and her husband Richard of Marlborough, her son, Jason R. Kane of Belchertown, and her two grandchildren.

After graduating high school, she attended Stockton State University in New Jersey where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science with high honors. Cindy most recently was about to retire from her career as a Research Assistant at UMass Amherst.

Cindy met her husband, Jeffrey, while they were in high school. The pair had their first date Christmas Day 1975 to the movies and the rest was history. They were married on January 9, 1982, and went on to start their family and raised their two children in Belchertown.

The only thing Cindy adored more than being a loving wife & mother was being a Nana to her grandchildren. She was a proud and beloved grandmother to both Frankie (4) and Jameson (6 weeks). She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts as the kindest, gentlest, and most selfless woman who loved her family and friends whole-heartedly.

A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2023 from 5-7pm with personal reflections to be shared at 6pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
