Obituary of Linda M. Carey

Belchertown - Linda M. (Deslauriers) Carey, 76, passed away January 9, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Holyoke, MA on Oct. 11, 1947, daughter of Wilfred and Estelle (Hetu) Deslauriers. Linda was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Precious Blood High School in Holyoke. She began her career in hairdressing at Gino's salon in Holyoke, then Latresse Salon where she worked for most of her career and retired from Roger's salon in Chicopee. Linda lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Belchertown where she resided for the last 29 years. In her leisure she enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 35 years, Warren D. Carey of Belchertown and her daughter, Niki Santos of W. Springfield. She also leaves 3 siblings, Phyllis Kamencik of FL and Mona Simard of NY, and Ronald Deslauriers of Chicopee. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Anthony Santos (Kelley) of Palmer, Stephanie Santos of Lancaster, MA, Jessica Chang of Westfield and 2 great grandchildren, Travis and Aleah. They will lovingly remember her and miss her beautiful smile.

The family will receive friends at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home on January 18, 2024, from 4:00PM - 7:00PM. Burial is at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the MSPCA.
