Obituary of Norma M. Moreau

South Hadley - Norma M. (Falcetti) Moreau, 88, passed away February 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born December 24, 1935 in Holyoke, she was the daughter of Dominic and Valentina (Paniga) Falcetti. Norma grew up in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School before working at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company prior to her marriage. For 60 years, she lived in South Hadley. Norma was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a daily communicant for many years. As a girl, she loved playing the piano and singing. She used her musical gifts over the years as a church organist and as music director for the St. Theresa’s folk group and Maranatha music ministry. Guided by her deep faith and prayerful heart, Norma was also a Third Order lay Dominican, serving as prioress for 9 years, and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society at the Passionist Monastery in W. Springfield. Her love of life and of nature was easily seen in the beautiful blossoms of her flower gardens and in the lovely seashells that she gathered during long ocean walks, many of these during the retirement years with her beloved husband. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 beautiful years, Norman J. Moreau on October 19, 2023. Norma is survived by her children, Thomas Moreau (Ricia Velasco) of NH, Tina Moreau-Jones (Daniel Jones) of NY, Theresa Moreau of RI, Donna Flinn (Darwin) of SC, and Deborah Moreau of MA; and her grandchildren, Catherine and Mary Moreau of NH. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Henry Falcetti. Visitation will be Friday February 9 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery where Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dominican Nuns of West Springfield, 1430 Riverdale St., W.Springfield, MA 01089.
