Obituary of Jim Haley Jr.

Palmer- James J. "Jim" Haley Jr., 67, passed away February 1, 2024 at his winter home in Florida. He was born on August 15, 1956 in Springfield, MA to the late James and Carolyn (Brandford) Haley. Jim was a lifelong resident of Palmer and previously worked as a painter for Monson Developmental Center before retiring. He also worked as a volunteer firefighter for the Palmer Fire Department. As a Fire Safety Officer for the town of Palmer, Jim started the fire safety program with Rick Pobieglo in local schools providing saftey education for students and members of the community. He also served on the Palmer Planning Board for many years and was the Assistant Scout Master of Troop 164. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved spending winters in Florida with his loving wife, Annette, and visiting Disney World and Sea World. 
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 40 years, Annette (Boudreau) Haley; daughter, Amber Drake and her husband, Nate; sons, Jeremy and Jared Haley; step-daughters, Annie Leuvano and her husband Paul, and Mary Jackson; granddaughter, Aria Drake; brothers, Scott and Bruce Haley; as well as many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory can be made to a charity of your choice. Please visit www.beersandstory.com to extend online condolences.
