Obituary of Gladys Mildred Zietkowski

Palmer-Gladys M. (Young) Zietkowski, 90, passed away February 21, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Bear Creek, WI on July 29, 1933, she was the daughter of Peter and Mildred (Bricco) Young. Gladys has lived in Palmer since 1972, previously living in Michigan for five and a half years after moving from California. Dedicated to the religious community of Our Lady of the Roses Shrine overseen by St Michael's World Apostolate, Gladys enjoyed routine trips into the city. In her leisure, she also enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crocheting and playing the accordion. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Zietkowski as well as her daughter, Mary Ann Zietkowski and siblings, Lionel, Nordel and Robert Young. Gladys's memory will forever remain with her children, Robert Zietkowski and his wife Bridget of Brimfield, William Zietkowski of Palmer, Sallie Czepiel of Enfield, CT, and Catherine Zietkowski of Bondsville. Gladys also leaves five grandchildren, Juliette, Alicia, Philip, David and Matthew, as well as a sister, Edna Janowski and Joseph of WI. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2nd from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle and burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
