Obituary of Genevieve Lambert

South Hadley - Genevieve "Jean" S. Lambert, 89, passed away April 4, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 24, 1934, in Holyoke, MA to Joseph and Karoline (Galary) Skomial. Jean was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and a communicant of St. Theresa's Church. Jean had worked for over 25 years as an assistant branch manager for Shawmut/ Fleet Bank retiring in 1996. She was an active member of both the South Hadley and Granby Senior Centers. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. What brought her the most joy in life was spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, William N. Lambert, her son, Brian Lambert and his wife Trisha, her daughter-in-law, Debra Lambert and son-in-law Bryan Marcotte. She will be sadly missed by her three children, Carlene Marcotte of Chicopee, Steven Lambert and his wife Laurie of South Hadley, and David Lambert and his wife AnnMarie of Warwick, MA. Her 11 cherished grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive her. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 24th at St. Theresa's Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 23rd from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home.
