As I read the paper today I came across this name. A light went off and my wheels started to turn. My mother was Jane Moores who once used to sing many years ago with a band, I believe was called Ragtime Rowdeys. She was also known as "New England Sophie Tucker" I believe Charlie was the drummer. A man named Benny played the guitar I belive. My mother passed 25 years ago also on Feb 9th. Why I remember this man and his wife so fondly is becasue they gave us 2 monkeys. The names of the monkeys were "Charlie + Jean". I was just a little girl then and I have never forgotten. This was probably one of my fondest memories. I realize there are probably lots of Charlie Smiths...But Charlie & Jeannie? My thought are with your family. If this is not the family I think it is please forgive me for intuding. Best Wishes to you all.

Shelley, these past couple of months have been hard on both our families. But know this, the few times I spent with your dad I found him to be a funny and caring man. He made you feel comfortable around him. I wish I knew him better. But you know something, I did get to know him better, through you. Your love of life, dedication to family, and compassion are all a part of his legacy that he instilled in you, and for that I truly am a better person for having known him and you. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. I know this much, every time I see you I will remember him with the fondest of memories. A friend of mine once told me, "when times get tough remember the three F's; Faith, Family and Friends, they will always be there for you." Shelley were here for you.

Dear Loved Ones of Charley Smith, I am formerly from Brimfield and graduated from TRHS Class of 66. We held our 40th reunion this past fall...I am wondering if we've lost "our" Chuck? I am so saddened to think that we have. He was a great guy! My family was at Beers and Story just 3 weeks ago to celebrate my Mom's life. We will have a commital service at the Brimfield Cemetary in the spring! Perhaps I'll see you on Tuesday. My heart goes out to each of you...I know of what you are feeling, but take heart in these words, "I will not leave you comfortless..." John 14:18

Jean, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed working with Charlie and wish that he could have enjoyed more of his retirement. It's times like this when one realizes how short life is and that we should enjoy every day. No words can make this time easier for you and your family now but hopefully memories and time will help to ease your pain.
