Obituary of John V. Boudreau

"Palmer- John V. Boudreau, Sr., the “Quabbin King”, 78, of Calkins Rd., passed away November 15, 2006 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Chicopee, MA on February 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Angelina (Bonneau) Boudreau. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and is a member of AMVETS post 74. John worked for over 20 years at the Wilbraham State Game Farm as a chief game culturist. Being an avid outdoorsman, John was a member of Aspen Street Rod & Gun Club, Swift River Sportsman Club and the founder of Quabbin Fisherman Association, where he was involved with the Special Olympics fishing outings for over 10 years. John also enjoyed tending to his gardens at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eleanor (Bisnette) and only son, John Jr. and his fiancé Brenda of Palmer. John also leaves a brother Armand and sister Irene Garrity both of FL along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Napoleon, Francis, Alfred, Roger, Harold, Leon and Norman. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. "
