Obituary of Lyman B. Stanton

"Brimfield-Lyman B. Stanton, Sr., 85, of Haynes Hill Rd. passed away August 23, 2006 at Harrington Memorial Hospital. Born February 26, 1921 in Palmer, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Grace A. (Bradway) Stanton. Lyman has lived in Brimfield for most of his life and in his younger years, worked on the farm and sold wood. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Lyman retired from the Brimfield Board of Health, where he served as an inspector. He enjoyed the outdoors and was well loved by the residents of Brimfield. Lyman was predeceased by his wife Pauline (McAlman) in 1971 and is survived by his sister and care-giver, Mary E. Stanton, with whom he lived along with a brother Richard also of Brimfield. He also leaves two children Robin M. Ware of Florida and Lyman Stanton, Jr. of Worcester along with two grandchildren Melissa M. and Patricia D. Ware, one great grandson, Zachary T. Neuberger and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Lyman was also predeceased by his brothers Ralph I. Sr., John H. Sr., and George L. Stanton. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Brimfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brimfield Ambulance, 34 Wales Rd., Brimfield, MA 01010. "
