I was shocked and saddened when I read the notice of Joan's passing this past Sunday. She and I shared a "coffee hour" after swim class on Fridays. Even though I don't know the family, I feel as though I do because Joan talked about all of you with love and affection. We had some wonderful visits together. I will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

Paul and Jeffrey and Michelle and family, I was speechless and devestated when I heard about Joan's untimely passing. We all go along thinking it will all last forever. I know we didn't talk often enough ,yet she was in my mind almost daily. My memories of Joan are all related to her kind and loving nature, her passionate love for all of you, and her upfront nature and open giving of self. She was always an anchor for me and helped me in ways that she never knew. Just seeing her always brought a smile to my face. I am feeling a deep sense of loss and know that your own pain must be unbearable. She will always be a part of our Christmas celebrations at the Allen Homestead . I was blessed to have her in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you now as you begin to sort out this loss. I will be remembering all the goodness and love Joan had. She was a special gem. Love to all of you. Fran
