Dear Family: 17 years ago Abe took a on a newcomer and helped him find the Creator, which led to a profound personality change. Abe then guided me to make amends to a dying mother before she crossed holding my hand each step of the way. The greatest gift I was given was responsibility and compassion. The Creator gave me that gift as I held his hand when he was called home. That day will be a part of me now and forever. The room was filled with more love than I had ever witnessed and I thank all whom shared with me that moment. I will never forget him for he is a part of me and the message he passed to me will be given to generations to follow. My heart goes out to Joyce, Jenny, and the entire family. I hope Thursday proved to everyone the man he was and how much he will be missed. If I can do anything for you Joyce please let me know. With love.... Kevin

Dear family: Mr. "Abe" was a legend. And, for me his legend will always live on. Now, that's not as humble a statement as he would prefer, yet it's from my heart of the seeds of sobriety he's sown in there that have grown. I loved that man with much gratitude for his presence was the gift. He will be and is sadly missed. When I was just a fledgling newcomer around the halls, he deemed me "Mr. Humility." I was so selfish and self-centered then, and he always shot straight and called a spade a spade. It was the right medicine for the cure; a fair dose of tough love in the regular moderation. Nothing goes futher than the truth to your heart. Of course, I hated the name, cause the truth always hurts before it starts to heal. And, heal it does...Abe, to me was a healer to many and I've never worn a tatoo. (Being part German instills ancestral guilt for the Jews...) However, I have considered a nice Tribal Thunderbird for Abe and his words of wisdom in my journey that rumbled into my heart to heal. He was a Thunderbird and is now returned to the heavens. Thank you Abe for our time, your last Anniversary Speak on Sat. night, and giving us all the proper dosage of our own truth. May God Bless You All, Mr. Humility

Dear Abe: I miss you buddy. I wonder how you're doing up there in heaven. I'm sorry I really couldn't return to the Sat. Night B-town meeting once you left. You were the heart and soul of that room and night! I just wasn't the same. Your memorial service was very crowded. Perhaps you were there. Billy did an impression on you that brought down the house. We all needed to laugh, just to take a break from holding back the tears. People came out of the woodworks up there. It was great to see so many folks you had a positive impact in around the room thru your many years of dedicated service. That you for leaving us a new and improved Kevin. And, how's big Mo up there? Still smilin'? Well, I do think of you in gratitude for having gotten to know you, laugh with you, and listen to your elder wisdom. I'm in Utah now, and the hall I got to was a former Mormon Church. I think they either gave it over or sold it for nothing. It's an awesome Alano Club with a great 0630 meeting and the kitchen is open. They have a pool table, events board, meetings all the time. They always have something going on. They even have a large picture of their old timers that may have had something to do with obtaining the permenant space. The last meeting is a candlelight at 2145 HRS for the newcomers. Miss you! Love, Mr. Humility
