This is just a note for the family. I was a Friendly Visitor to Stella for several years before she moved to MA. I have missed her ever since and recently sent a note up to her. It turns out she and her sisters grew up near me and recently my husband and I have been delivering Meals on Wheels to her sister, Jennie. Stella was a lovely, warm and friendly lady who was so proud of her home and all the beauitful things she had made and grown there. I loved her and hated to see her leave, but I knew it was best for her. I read of her death with great sadness and I want her famiy to know how dear she was to me. I went to her after losing my own mother, so I always told her she was my substitute Mom. God Bless the family. Her daughter, Melanie, is married to the son of a family that is also practically a neighbor. I live on Saddle Ridge Road, the street after Mt. Nebo and before 100 Acres off of Hattertown Rd. God Speed. Darlene Jackson, 9 Saddle Ridge Rd., Newtown.
