Obituary of Stella M. Ruscoe

" Palmer, Stella Melanie (Kawiecki) Ruscoe, 92, of Birch St, in the Three Rivers section of Palmer, died Sunday. Born in Terryville, CT, March 15, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Sophie (Waltersdorf) Kawiecki. Mrs. Ruscoe lived in Danbury, CT for sixty years, before moving to Palmer in 1997. She retired in 1978 from the Danbury High School where she worked in food service for 15 years. She had previously worked at the Lee Hat Co. as a hat trimmer. She also worked many years at St. Gregory the Great Rectory for Monsignor John Wigh. Mrs. Ruscoe served as Treasurer of Beaver Brook School PTA for many years. She also was a member of the Germantown Firehouse Auxiliary, St. Gregory the Great Guild and the Danbury Senior Center. Stella loved to crochet, and to garden, and had an extensive cup and saucer collection. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Forrest A. Ruscoe in 1962. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Patricia A. Ferris of Florence, MA and Melanie K. Leibold and her husband Robert, Jr., Three Rivers, MA. Stella leaves two grandchildren, Dianne M. Ferris of New Hampshire and Sean M. Leibold and his wife Jennifer of Glastonbury, CT. She also leaves a sister Jeanette Kawiecki of Newtown, CT, along with many nieces and nephews. A sister, Mae Kawiecki, Newtown, CT. predeceased her in 2000. Funeral services will be Saturday at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury, CT at 9:30 A.M. followed by burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury. Calling hours are Friday from 6:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte 20). "
