Obituary of John Szpila

"Granby, John Szpila, 66, died peacefully at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke on February 27. Born in Northampton on August 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Klimoski) Szpila. John worked for the Northampton State Hospital for 29 years and most recently for the Carlson Center in Westfield before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed his dogs and repairing radios. He will be sadly missed by his adopted family and neighbors, Kevin and Kimberly O'Grady and their two daughters of Granby, along with his close friend, Kevin Bellerose of Hampden, ME. He is also survived by many good friends in the area. A funeral service will be held on March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley.
