Obituary of Bobby G. Pitts

"Brimfield- Bobby G. Pitts, 61, of Willow Cr., passed away on February 6, 2008 at Baystate Medical Center. Born September 12, 1946 in Finley Tennessee, he was the son of the late Egbert "Boss" and Cillie (Yarbro) Pitts. Mr. Pitts served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Libya. Bobby was raised in Tennessee and has lived in the Palmer- Brimfield area for 22 years and was a member of the Second Congregational Church. He was employed by Teletek followed by Northeast Security/Comcast in Enfield from 1997 until present as a security guard. In 1997, he retired after 27 years from the Westover Fire Department as a civil service firefighter. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Patriots fan. He is deeply missed by his wife of 39 years Carol (Greenia) Pitts and four sons Gerarld Duford of Springfield, Ronald Duford and his wife Christine of Belchertown, Doug Duford of Cheshire, CT and Jeffery Pitts and his girlfriend Jen Hullihen of Ware. He will also be missed by two sisters Henrietta and Mary Helen of TN, three grandchildren Erica, Jerry and Logan as well as his fellow firefighters from Westover, his dog Pumpkin and a large extended family. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church on Pleasant St. in Palmer. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association 1111 Elm St., W. Springfield, MA 10189."
