Obituary of Mary Jane Murphy

"ADel, GA, Mary Jane (Rogers) Murphy, 73, former longtime resident of Palmer, died August 28, in GA. Born in S. Weymouth, May 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Shirley (Lewis) Rogers Morrissette and Walter Morrissette. Mary Jane grew up in Rockland and later moved to Palmer where she lived for many years before relocating to Georgia. She was a 25 year employee of Turley Publications in Palmer and an active member of St. Paul’s Universalist-Unitarian Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at Wing Memorial Hospital. Her husband Harry L. Murphy died in 1988. She is survived by her children Michael of Gainsville, GA, Cindy Jo Swain and Kristin M. Bradway, both of Palmer, and Valjeanne Pilcher of Stockbridge, GA, along with 6 grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Joanne Barnes of Rockland and two nieces. There will be a time to pay respects to her family on Saturday, September 22 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.
