Obituary of Bernice Ann Petersen

" Bernice Ann (Danek) Petersen, 64, died on June 3, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Westfield, MA on March 4, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bernice (Guzewicz) Danek. Bernice Petersen has lived in Holland since 1980. She was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Mercy Medical Center for over 30 years. Bernice was highly recognized for her knowledge in the field of Anesthesia and for the special touch and care she gave to her patients. Bernice was a second degree black belt and in her leisure enjoyed running and sailing. She was also a devoted member of St. Christopher’s Church in Brimfield where she was the choir director for many years. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Christian Petersen, daughter Maria Petersen and her husband Marc Stern of Stamford, CT and a son Christian, Jr. and his wife Tara of Holland. She also leaves a sister Fran Burgielewicz of Easthampton, three brothers Peter Danek of Westfield, Edward Danek of Enfield, Ct, Michael Danek of Westfield and two granddaughters Isabella and Cassidy Petersen. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church, followed by burial in Holland Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.
