This is Indira Peterson, writing to send you and your entire family my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved wife Cynthia. Losing your wife of 52 years is a blow that has surely brought unfathomable sorrow. My heart goes to you
I think friends have told you that my own beloved husband, Mark, passed away on May 27--also peacefully, with me by his side, holding his hand. You were very kind to me at the beginning of Mark's illness, and had told me about Cynthia's illness. We have led parallel lives, it seems. Reading Cynthia's obituary in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, I was comforted and inspired by the account you have given of her brilliant and beautiful life. Her stellar contributions as school teacher and librarian, educating generations of children and college students, have brought, and left light in this world.
